King of Depression

The concept is incredible. Your skill is incredible. The way your mind works… is terrifyingly impressive. An all-devouring emptiness, isolation, wreathed with hell and crowned in the devil’s own multi-faced frozen circle? In an hour and a half you’ve got all the profundity of Dante’s influence with the metamorphic quality of the unfathomable horror that even Lovecraft left undefined, perfectly, even biblically visualized while the human silhouette formed from the cloak is a stark reminder that this isn’t a portrait of a monster confined to mythos, but a mirror. Have to say, I really love how absolutely feline the top eyes seem to be, especially in conjunction with the icy aspect and gaping maw, as if reflecting the verse, ‘…the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh among you, seeking whom he may devour,’ while encompassing the frigid image of divine ruin: absolute exile, entirely abandoned of hope, while the more humanoid skull shape is indicative of not only of the sense of mortality that never ends, but it’s literal and inalienably sovereign over the mind; flaunting that idea in gold with striking contrast breeds such contempt in combination with the cruelty expressed in the frozen, jagged features of the ‘crown’. Such complexity, rendered quite clearly, just blows my mind!
